There is this idea in our culture that if you want your family to grow in faith, you get them to church. We think if my family is in church, they will be taught and equipped to practice their faith in the world around them.
The truth is, God designed the home to be the primary place where faith is established. He designed family to be the first spiritual community. Unfortunately, many of us get caught in the trap of "outsourcing" faith-building to the church. And truth be told, many of us don't feel equipped to do this in our homes.
What is Hope@home?
Hope@home is an integrated church strategy to help families restore the home as the primary context of spiritual formation. It exists to increase the likelihood of those partnering with New Hope will:
--Build a life-long, thriving marriage
--Introduce their children to Christ
--Launch their teens as committed believers
Something for everyone
Hope@home has resources for many life seasons and home situations! Specific Pointer topics include:
Disciplining Young Children
Caring for Aging Loved Ones
Sexual Identity Confusion
Children Who Reject Your Beliefs
We encourage you to stop by our Hope@home Center for some valuable resources for you and your family! You will find Pointers that offer encouragement and direction, Faith Discussion Cards to start meaningful faith conversations in your home (includes activity ideas), a 120 day review and plan, audio CDs with helpful thoughts and messages on specific topics, as well as some "going further" resources. Our center is located in between the Family Life Center and the Atrium.
The Center is designed to be self-serve. So stop by to find resources that are right for you. If you have questions, stop by the Center any Sunday morning before or after both Worship Services (9:30 and 11:00 am) and you will find a Host happy to assist you!
