Music/Worship

Music is a reflection of the heart and soul of people. There is nothing that touches us deeper or has a longer lasting influence. When we use music as a tool to worship the Living God, an incredible, intimate relationship is formed. The Music/Worship Ministry helps people discover Christ through music, and challenges believers to develop in Him and deploy for Him through its effect on them.

Adult Worship Choir

This ministry team’s main function is to lead worship in both our morning worship services. It is a non-auditioned group open to adults who are able to:

  • Sing harmoniously with others
  • Commit to a full season of ministry (Fall: September-December or Spring: January-May)
  • Regularly attend rehearsals and ministry opportunities
  • Support whole-heartedly the mission and vision of our church

Worship is more than music and our rehearsal times are more than music too. Come be a part of this exciting group as we worship, pray, sing, and have fun together!

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir presents songs in a sound and style unlike any other! You don’t have to be a musical expert to play handbells, but it does help to have a little bit of a musical background. The Handbell Choir serves in various venues throughout the year. You may find them leading in a Worship Service, performing in a seasonal worship event, or even catch them performing in locations outside the church.

Worship Band

Worship Band Members bring a diversity of musical experience and training to the platform, and yet are humbly committed to each other and to their common task of worship leading. They serve the body of Christ by living lives of integrity, not only in their commitment to musical excellence, but in their daily pursuits among family members, neighbors, and co-workers. They are worshipers first, musicians second.

Kids’ Choir

The preschool (ages 3-5), children (grades 1-2 & 3-4), and preteen WAM (grades 5-6) choirs participate in many different learning activities that give them a foundation for music and worship. They sing periodically as part of the mid-week Worship Service. Kids’ Choirs meet on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Children’s Building.

Technology & Lights Team

We are always looking for volunteers for our technology team! Volunteers would serve one Sunday per month in their preferred area of video, computer imaging, sound, or lighting. For computer imaging, knowledge of PC computers and PowerPoint are needed. No experience required for all other areas; training will be provided. If you are interested in serving on this team, contact Aimee Evans at aimee@discovernewhope.com.
