Keith started as the Senior Pastor of New Hope in April 2011 after serving in a variety of ministry roles such as Student Pastor, Single Adult Pastor, Young Married Adult Pastor, Interim Senior Pastor, and Adult Education Pastor, — in churches ranging in size from 200 to over 4,000. With over 25 years of experience serving in the local church, Keith is passionate about using his gifts of teaching and developing leaders.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Baylor University as well as both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.Blessed with a loving wife, Julie who has been his companion approaching 30 years they have three children Emily, Jonathan and Allison. Keith enjoys traveling with his family, seeing a good movie or play, hanging out and attending Baylor Bears football games.
New Hope called Debbie Bailey to be the Children’s Minister in 1988. From her earliest memories she wanted to have an active part in helping children discover and experience the love that God had shown her. Her love for children, as well as families learning of God’s love and how to make His word applicable to their lives, has been a driving force during her ministry. Debbie has transitioned over the years from Children’s Minister, to Preschool/Weekday Minister, to her current position which includes overseeing all preschool areas of the church, as well as administrative duties for the church body. She and her husband Tim raised their three children here at New Hope, and now enjoy watching their children serve the Lord, as well as, their three granddaughters and grandson being nurtured in Christian homes.
Jason Collins has been serving at New Hope since 2003. His joy in ministry is seeing teens and their families find their full identity in Christ. Jason earned his Bachelor of Arts from East Texas Baptist University, and his Masters of Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also studied student ministry and counseling. Jason is married to his wife Jennifer, who works for Leander I.S.D. They are blessed with three children, Anderson, Hogan, and Ella.
Ryan Nelson was born and raised in Florida where he came to know Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of twenty and shortly thereafter heard God’s call on his life to full time ministry. After graduating from the University of Florida, confident of his calling and passionate for music & worship he moved to Texas to further study and prepare for ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Church Music in 2010. He has served in ministry leading worship and developing worship leaders for over the past ten years with the vision and mission to live out God’s love through worship, service and the sharing of His Word with as many people as possible so that they may come to a saving relationship with Christ, grow deeper in their relationship with Him, and turn to Him alone who gives life!
David was born in Louisville, Kentucky and is the son of a retired Pastor. He has served in full time ministry for over 20 years in churches of all sizes including 9 years at Grace Fellowship in West Palm Beach, Florida where during his tenure the Church grew from 700 to over 4,000 with multiple Campuses. He graduated from Liberty University & Seminary . He has been a featured guest personality at the Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky Evangelism Conferences. David has been married to his wonderful wife Wendy for 22 years and they have a daughter Madison, who is 16. David enjoys traveling with his family, golf and playing basketball with his daughter. His favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
After almost 38 years as pastor in four Southern Baptist Churches, Gary comes to New Hope First Baptist Church to work part-time as minister to senior adults. Gary is a graduate of Sam Houston State University where he and his wife of over 40 years, Brenda, first met. Brenda is a retired speech –language pathologist and now enjoys life as “Mimi” to four grandchildren. Gary also graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree and from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry degree. Gary has a calling to pastoral ministries, teaching, and preaching. He pastored churches in Alabama, Missouri, and Texas. He and Brenda currently live in Round Rock where he served the First Baptist Church for over 21 years as senior pastor prior to retirement and accepting the invitation to serve on staff at New Hope First Baptist Church here in Cedar Park.
Prior to being called to full-time ministry, Cathy received her nursing degree, and served as a School Health Specialist and school nurse. Cathy has over 10 years of experience serving in full-time children’s ministry. She received a Masters of Arts in Childhood Ministry from Dallas Baptist University. She also obtained her Preschool/Children’s Certification from the Baptist General Convention of Texas where she has been a presenter of breakout sessions for children and preschool ministries. Most recently she has served as the CEO of a non-profit Christian Youth Center, and previously from a church in Austin where she served as Children’s Minister. Cathy’s passion is to reach families for Christ, not only through a church setting but by also going out into the community proclaiming the Gospel. She desires to teach children about Christ’s love, forgiveness and salvation, showing them there is hope in a world that is surrounded by hopelessness. Cathy has enjoyed the wide variety of education and experience God has granted her, preparing her for her calling as New Hope’s Children’s Minister. She is eager for her and her family to be used by God to impact the lives of the children at New Hope. She has been married to her husband, Earl, for 37 years. They have a four grown children and eight grandchildren, ranging in ages newborn to 11.
