Afraid but Filled with Joy

Fear and joy. A strange combination. Have you ever experienced striking fear because your whole world was about to change, yet you were filled with joy for the great, unthinkable things ahead? That’s how the first two people to experience Easter felt, afraid but filled with joy.

Like them, we too can be afraid or unable to fully understand what is happening in our world, but still be filled with hope and a surpassing joy. This Easter, we invite you to come discover joy in the middle of uncertainty.

JOURNEY TO EASTER

APRIL 8

Kids and parents, get ready to experience Easter like never before! Easter will become real to kids as they interact with 7 different scenes/stations from the Easter story, make special crafts and hear costumed Bible characters share important moments on the journey to Easter. Families will see, hear, touch and even taste the things that Jesus did on his journey.

This is a 1.5-hour Easter experience for parents and elementary kids (siblings are welcome!). To keep lines and wait times short, we have different start times for families to choose from.

AFTER EASTER

STARTS APRIL 16

Bills due, family stress, work deadlines, disturbing news. Too many places to be. Too many demands on our time. All these things piled up in our minds, the fear of everything toppling… it can lead to an anxious mind.

Anxiety can get in the way of our relationships, slow down our home or work performance, and rob us of our peace and possibilities for our future.

We all experience, or will experience, anxiety. But we don’t have to be owned by it. There is hope for a life that is not controlled by it and can overcome it. We invite you to join us on a journey to better understand what feeds our anxiety and how we can use God-given tools to respond to it.

Part I: Understand What Fuels it (Sundays, Apr. 16-30)
Part II: Respond with What Calms It (Sundays, May 14-28)

Intro to Hope Groups

We all need people on our team to cheer us on when times are tough. Our Hope Groups are designed to do just that. They are relational-based, small group communities that we do life with — the good, the bad and the messy.

Jumping into a new Hope Group can be overwhelming, so we invite you to Intro to Hope Groups. This class will help you better understand what Hope Groups are all about. You can “test out” a Hope Group while finding community and developing spiritual habits. Our first class begins April 16, 9:30 am in Education Building (EDU) 203. Sign up to attend!
